konig meyer 26783 review b

If you’ve read my review of the 26782 model then you should know that even though König & Meyer states that it can accommodate up to 46 sized screens it actually is capable of holding up to 55” models (anything really as long as it doesn’t weigh over 20Kg) so it comes as no surprise that the 26783 can hold screens up to well over 30Kg in weight (meaning up to modern 75” models right now) on flat surfaces. This of course is due to the excellent build quality of the stand which is certainly not something we see a lot in this segment of the market (most floor stands I’ve checked to date weigh almost half as much). However, between the 26782 and the 26783 i have to side with the former since its base takes less space and looks far more elegant. That being said the two legs of the 26783 can be outfitted with wheels/rollers (by replacing the height adjustable feet) and for some people that’s actually quite important so both stands have something different to offer. Unfortunately, just like with the 26782 the 26783 doesn’t feature a tilt mount and even though i had no problem watching movies as is it would be nice to have that function in case you ever need it.

Price was the largest drawback of the 26782 screen/monitor stand and the same applies for the 26783 model since it currently retails for roughly USD600 inside the USA and for 347Euros inside the EU (Amazon.co.uk). I will not even comment on the price the 26783 is sold on the other side of the Atlantic (shipping fees probably propel it that high) but in the EU it’s actually almost twice as expensive compared to other similar floor stands (by similar i mean with the same weight capacity) and that is not something most consumers on a budget will look past. Overall however the 26783 offers most of what i personally would look for in a floor stand including build quality, design and screen compatibility which is also why i strongly recommend checking it out if you're in the market for one (and you also happen to be living in the EU that is).
