heimvision greets 1 review b

For a wireless video doorbell, the GREETS 1 by HeimVision did very well during the almost 1 full month I tested it for. Image and audio quality are both good (not great but again, this is a wireless video doorbell) and the HeimLife app gives you a plethora of settings to adjust and test. Moving to battery life things here vary a lot on the where you place the doorbell and of course the sensitivity level of the motion sensor feature. For example, i placed it on the front door which faces the street and even though i set the motion sensor to low (that made sure it only picked up people passing near the door) it still was enough for the battery to deplete at just over 9 days (9 days and 10 hours to be exact). This of course means that if you position the doorbell at a place where it will only pick up people coming to your door it should last for much longer than that. Yes, it will never reach the advertised 6 months of standby time but even 10+ plus days before each recharge (that is if you can't connect it to a power source) is not bad at all. All of the sensors found in the GREETS 1 also work like a charm as does the wireless chime (although i still don't know if you can use rechargeable AA batteries in it - should be possible however). What I’d change with the GREETS 1 is that I’d also include the 25-40 degrees angled base/mount since it’s far more convenient than the bundled one (at least in my case). Still even the fact that HeimVision offers it separately is a good thing so I can’t really complain. Also, when choosing the black color it makes very little sense for the wireless chime to be white but that’s exactly the case with the GREETS 1 (perhaps HeimVision will change that in future models).

Currently retailing for just USD89.99 inside the USA (Amazon.com) and for around 90Euros inside the EU the GREETS 1 Smart Video Doorbell by HeimVision is clearly priced right (also available for USD69.99 directly from the HeimVision website). Yes, it may not be the best video doorbell in the market today but it’s affordable, easy to install and use and offers a good array of features all of which are enough for it to get the Golden Award.
