CONCLUSION

nuki 3 0 pro review b

The Smart Lock 2.0 by NUKI was an innovative product which although I really enjoyed using (I even installed it in my bedroom after all) it was far from perfect. To be more specific what I mostly didn't like about the Smart Lock 2.0 was that NUKI had used 4 regular AA-batteries which meant that consumers needed to either purchase new ones to replace these (once every couple of months or so) or get rechargeable ones (and a charger of course which would further increase cost). NUKI obviously got feedback from both us reviewers and their community and so the NUKI Smart Lock 3.0 Pro uses an 2500mAh NiMH rechargeable battery pack which lasts for many weeks (could be over 2 months depending on the use). Also, noise has always been a tiny issue ever since i started using the 2.0 model and even though NUKI claims that they have improved on that regard with their 3.0 models i honestly didn't notice that. So, to see for myself i used my dBA meter to measure noise from 20cm away and my results were 67.6dBA for the 2.0 model and 65.5dBA for the 3.0 Pro (so there’s indeed a tiny difference there). The new Smart Lock 3.0 Pro also features an aluminum ring which feels a lot better compared to the plastic of both the 2.0 and 3.0 models and although that’s far from a game breaker for me it’s still a good upgrade. NUKI also added a new door sensor which unfortunately they didn’t send over so I can’t really comment on its use and performance. On the other hand, both the keypad and fob are two great additions to the Smart Lock 3.0 Pro since they do simplify things if the app is not something you’d like to bother yourself much with.

Currently the Smart Lock 3.0 Pro by NUKI retails for 269Euros inside the EU (NUKI.IO) not including the keypad and the fob also showcased in this review (roughly 100Euros over with these two added). Even though however the Smart Lock 3.0 Pro is not quite affordable the fact that it needs almost no installation preparation and that you can also use it on old doors is something quite unique. On top of that add its Wi-Fi connectivity which allows you to open/close your door remotely and the 2500mAh NiMH rechargeable battery pack and I think it’s worth every cent (at least if you do have use for its features). Overall, I really like the new Smart Lock 3.0 Pro model by NUKI and since it delivers even more than its predecessor it also deserves the Golden Award.
