eizo ev2795 review a

With the exception of regular/casual consumers gamers, enthusiasts and professionals are always looking to get their hands on the best possible LCD monitor. Of course gamers, enthusiasts and professionals have vastly different priorities when looking for a new monitor so gamers and enthusiasts are usually mostly interested in high refresh rates, low response times, ultra-wide aspect ratios (21:9/32:9) and features like RGB lighting whereas professionals are always after the best color reproduction, crisp image quality and extra features like USB-C ports (either for charging of peripherals or for signal sharing via daisy chain) and vertical/portrait mode. Unsurprisingly gaming oriented LCD monitors vastly outnumber professional oriented ones but since quite a few of you asked last year today with me i have the latest offering by EIZO, the 27-inch FlexScan EV2795.

EIZO (TSE:6737), which means image in Japanese, is a visual technology company that develops and manufactures high-end visual solutions to enrich people in their professional and personal lives. EIZO offers total imaging solutions with a range of monitors, software, video capture, processing, and distribution solutions, cameras, and advanced integrated technologies, to meet the specialized needs of customers in business, creative fields, healthcare, air traffic control, maritime, security & surveillance, and more. Headquartered in Hakusan, Japan, EIZO has R&D and manufacturing facilities in Japan, China, Germany, and the United States, and representation in more than 90 countries.

Just like most LCD monitors by EIZO the 27-inch (68.5cm diagonal) FlexScan EV2795 is available in two colors (black and white), follows the typical 16:9 aspect ratio and is based on a LED-backlit IPS 8-bit panel that features a maximum resolution of 2560x1440p (QHD), 109ppi (pixels per inch), 60Hz refresh rate, 5ms (GTG) response time, 350cd/m2 maximum brightness, 1000:1 contrast ratio and a color space covering sRGB (I don’t have the official sRGB and AdobeRGB numbers in hand, will update once I do). Aside its USB-C port which can be used to display video (daisy chain multi-screen setup), playback audio, transmit USB-Ethernet signals and supply power to connected devices (70W power delivery) the EIZO EV2795 also sports a single HDMI port (v2.0), single DisplayPort port (v1.2), Ethernet RJ45 Gigabit port, 3 USB 3.1 ports and a single 3.5mm headphone mini jack. Other features include a light sensor (auto brightness control), KVM switch (keyboard/mouse), EcoView technology (power and CO2 reduction), TUV certified flicker free and low blue light technologies, non-glare matte panel and two front facing speakers (1W each - stereo). Finally, EIZO covers the FlexScan EV2795 with an impressive 5 year limited warranty and a zero bright pixels warranty for a period of 6 months.
