hyperx cloud stinger wireless plus 7 1 review a

As I've pointed out many times in past reviews i may not be an avid fan of gaming headsets (primarily because i live alone most of the time) but at the end of the day that matters not, what matters is that most of you out there do in fact use them and that alone is enough for me to try and test every single model that i can get my hands on. Of course, wireless gaming headsets have recently become more popular than their wired counterparts and even though signal strength, battery life and even audio clarity in certain cases are still issues that render them not quite on par with wired models it's understandable that wire-free solutions are far more convenient for many people. The Cloud Stinger Core Wireless+ 7.1 is the latest 2.4GHz wireless model released by HyperX (HHSS1C-BA-BK/G) and as expected it's also what today's review is all about.

HyperX is the gaming division of Kingston Technology Company, Inc., the world’s largest independent memory manufacturer, with the goal of providing gamers, PC builders, PC, console and mobile power users with high-performance components. For 16 years, the HyperX mission has been to develop gaming products for all types of gamers – high-speed memory, solid state drives, headsets, keyboards, mice, charging accessories for console players, USB flash drives, and mousepads – to the gaming community and beyond. The award-winning HyperX brand is known for consistently delivering products that deliver superior comfort, aesthetics, performance, and reliability. HyperX gear is the choice of celebrity ambassadors, pro gamers, tech enthusiasts, and over-clockers worldwide because it meets the most stringent product specifications and is built with best-in-class components. HyperX has shipped over 70 million memory modules, 10 million gaming headsets and one million keyboards worldwide.

Just like most models of its type the Cloud Stinger Core Wireless+ 7.1 by HyperX is based on two 40mm neodymium dynamic drivers (frequency response of 20Hz-20KHz with 16Ohms impedance and 103dB sensitivity) which thanks to the addition of a built-in USB sound card can produce 7.1 virtual surround audio. It also features a flexible unidirectional noise-cancelling drop-down boom microphone (frequency response of 50Hz-18KHz and -40dB sensitivity), lightweight design for optimal comfort, 2.4GHz wireless connectivity with up to 20 meters range, Synaptics Audiosmart voice DSP and a built-in battery pack which can provide the headset with up to 17 hours of audio playback. Yes, since the Cloud Stinger Core Wireless+ 7.1 belongs in the budget-friendly "Core" line of products by HyperX it does lack some of the extras found in their more feature-rich models but still it does sound interesting so time to check it out.
