sandberg 2 usb pd100w 30000 review b

Exactly like with past powerbanks i spend almost 3 weeks using the 2xUSB-C PD100W 30000 powerbank on a daily basis in order to properly record its battery capacity using one laptop, 3 smartphones, 2 portable speakers and 1 tablet. Now it's no secret that due to things like conversion loss and voltage difference between the battery pack and the USB outputs powerbank capacity varies and is never what manufacturers state on the box and yes, the same applies with the 2xUSB-C PD100W 30000 model by Sandberg. I tried my best to get an average battery capacity (real one) by using all of the above portable devices and so at the end of these 3 weeks i recorded between 18.000mAh and 24.000mAh. Again, this will depend a lot on what device you plug into the 2xUSB-C PD100W 30000 powerbank so if you simultaneously plug two PD100W compatible laptops you should get a considerably lower number than even the lowest i recorded. That being said the good thing with such powerbanks is not that you can fully recharge two laptops at the same time (you may with a higher capacity powerbank) but that you can keep them going for longer periods of time (even 30 minutes extra should prove to be a great deal in most scenarios) so do keep that in mind. Unfortunately, since the 2xUSB-C PD100W 30000 is not part of the survivor series by Sandberg it doesn't feature a rugged housing (so i don't recommend using it in harsh conditions/environments) nor a LED torch so if you'd like a powerbank with those i do suggest reading my other reviews.

Unlike in the past Sandberg products seem to also be available on the other side of the Atlantic and so currently their 2xUSB-C PD100W 30000 (420-87) powerbank retails for USD224 in the USA (Amazon.com) and for 197.93Euros inside the EU (Amazon.de). Now, as expected this price tag may seem like a lot to some people but it’s actually quite balanced for such a model. Overall, after almost 3 full weeks of tests I have zero complaints from the 2xUSB-C PD100W 30000 powerbank. Again, I do prefer the Survivor series because of their rugged exterior and LED torches but for “regular” use a more compact model (even though still quite large) makes more sense and since the 2xUSB-C PD100W 30000 combines everything I’d look for in one it deserves the Golden Award.
