osotek horizon 200 review a

If you happen to have furry pets at home like i do (especially in the summer) you know all too well just how dirty the floors can get and yes, the same usually applies for people with young children as well. So, since I’m always looking for ways to either save time while cleaning or do a more effective job at that I'm certain the same applies for everyone else and luckily, we live at a time when technology can actually help a lot with that. Robot vacuum cleaners, cordless vacuum sticks and wet and dry vacuums all of these can help people both trim significant amounts of time while cleaning and do a better job while at it. Today's review is about one such device and more specifically the Horizon H200 Wet Dry Vacuum by Osotek.

OSOTEK was established back in 2019 in cooperation with Xiaomi and joined the Mijia sub-brand. OSOTEK is a brand that provides innovative solutions to challenging home and floor cleaning problems. We not only produce cleaning products but are creating a whole new, improved lifestyle in the world of surface cleaning. OSOTEK believes in producing cleaning products that get the job done and in creating solutions that can be integrated into everyday life. Our technology allows us to deliver cleaning solutions that are safe, easy to use, and a joy to have in the household.

As a wet and dry vacuum cleaner the Horizon H200 by Osotek can sweep and mop your floors at the same time thus not only saving you quite a bit of time in the process but also producing optimal cleaning results. To achieve this Osotek has equipped the Horizon H200 with an ultra-wide roller brush (Manta Clean technology - 300RPM per minute and up to 4 times larger surface contact area compared to the competition) and an intelligent infrared sensor which can detect the type of dirt/debris and adjust cleaning modes accordingly. The Horizon H200 sports a total of three power modes (automatic, turbo and water-absorbing), top LED screen (indicates remaining battery life, dirt detection, power modes and error reporting), 180 degrees reclining function (perfect range technology), voice assistant, 4000mAh lithium-ion rechargeable battery pack (up to 35 minutes of running time) and two water tanks, an 750ml one for clean water and an 640ml one for dirty water (with wet and dry garbage separation function). All the above sound very interesting so let's see whether or not the Horizon H200 is the wet and dry vacuum to get.

SPECIFICATIONS AND FEATURES

PACKAGING AND CONTENTS

osotek horizon 200 review 1t

Osotek uses a very long box to pack the Horizon H200 inside which as expected has their logo and a large product picture at the front (that's just about it however).

The entire bundle is wrapped inside plastic bags and placed between several pieces of cardboard.

Along with the two pieces of the Horizon H200 (main body and handle) inside the box you'll also find the charging stand, storage compartment with plastic attachment, power adapter, water tank cleaning brush, plastic rollers, roller brush, cleaning solution, warranty paper, quick installation guide and the user manual.

THE HORIZON H200

The main body of the Horizon H200 is made out of plastic, rubber and aluminum, weighs 8Kg and measures 73cm in height, 10cm in thickness and 14mm in length.

At the front we find the Osotek logo and the 750ml clean water tank.

Turning the H200 around we find the 640ml dirty water tank.

Both water tanks are made out of smoked plastic and look and feel quite durable.

At the rear we also find the voice feedback speaker, voice feedback on/off button and a small wheel (fir the 180 degrees reclining feature).

By default, the roller brush is not installed and so to install it you'll first need to remove the top base cover as seen above (notice the LEDs on the lower top bottom of the base).

After that you just need to fit the roller brush over the plastic rollers as seen above.

Last step is to mount the rolling brush onto the base and you're done.

The handle was a nice surprise because Osotek is probably the only manufacturer that rubber coats the interior.

Of course, on the handle we also find the power on/off, mode and self-cleaning buttons.

With the handle attached the Horizon H200 height increases to roughly 110cm.

The charging base is made out of glossy plastic and is pretty basic.

Needless to say, you can attach the storage compartment on either side of the charging base.

The total area required to position the Horizon H200 with its charging base is 33.5cm in width and 34.5cm in depth.

I forgot to point out that the top LED display is very easy to read and indicates the remaining battery life, available modes and of course the dirt detection (blue line for low and red line for strong suction).

TEST RESULTS

battery

Just like with robot vacuums all cordless handheld vacuum models will be thoroughly tested (for a duration of at least 20 days) to properly and accurately record/measure total battery life (using just the corner nozzle/flat suction tip for cordless vacuum sticks) and noise levels (from around 50cm distance using the ExTech HD600 dBA meter) in all available modes.

CONCLUSION

osotek horizon 200 review b

After spending almost 3 weeks with the Horizon H200 i mostly have positive things to say about it. First of all, build quality is very good (that did surprise me since Osotek is not one of the well-established players in the market) and features like being able to lower it all the way down to reach difficult areas (180 degrees recline) and of course the front LEDs is not something we see a lot, at least not with wet and dry vacuum cleaners. Also, even though the rolling brush is not as thick and soft as those used with the Floor One S5 by Tineco (review here) and the H11 Max by Dreame (review here) thanks to its increased surface cleans very well, even corners. Battery life may not be quite on par with that of the S5 and H11 Max models (although recharge time seems to be slightly longer for the H200) and it doesn't come close to the advertised number of 35 minutes (i guess on auto and with a clean floor it could get that high) but it's still more than enough to cover a whole house (i was able to clean my house twice with 1 full charge). The top display is also very large and easy to read so that too is a plus, especially for older people. Just like with everything not all is perfect so aside the fact that the Horizon H200 is rather large and heavy (even though it’s self-propelled for the most part it’s also considerably heavier compared to both the Tineco Floor One S5 and the Dreame H11 Max) for every 1 full charge i had to refill the clean water tank 4 times and empty the dirty water tank 3 times and yes, in time that does get annoying. Of course, the same more or less applies for every wet and dry model out there which is why i really can't hold it against the Horizon H200 by Osotek (still i do hope eventually manufacturers use larger water tanks).

So, just how much will the Horizon H200 Wet Dry Vacuum by Osotek set you back? Well, currently it retails for USD499.99 inside the USA (Amazon.com) and 442.84Euros inside the EU (Amazon.de) a price tag which puts it right next to several competing products. Overall, there’s nothing more I could ask from the Osotek Horizon H200, yes it would be great if it was lighter (more suitable for older people) but it does clean extremely well, has good battery life, is very versatile (reclining function) and the top LED display is very easy to read and so the Golden Award is a must here.
