CONCLUSION
Sennheiser places extra weight in the spatial/soundstage aspect of their latest HD 620S (so I decided to start with this) and well, I partially agree with them. Yes, the soundstage may not the widest I've ever encountered but it's way above average and well, that never became a problem for me during the 3 weeks I ended up testing the HD 620S. Where the HD 620S do great is bass/lows levels and highs/vocals so no matter what music genre you end up listening to you should be more than satisfied. Mids are crisp and balanced but again, highs and lows are clearly emphasized more and personally I liked that. The soft and comfortable earpads on the other hand (and the lack of pressure which is also why they are so comfortable) don't offer the best audio isolation so if you're near a sound/noise source you'll probably wish this wasn't the case. As for build quality Sennheiser is not among the top audio manufacturers around for no reason and so the HD 620S don't disappoint in that regard either.
Currently the Sennheiser HD 620S retails for USD349.95 inside the USA (Amazon.com) and for 282.39Euros inside the EU (Amazon.de) thus it’s priced just a tad higher compared to the older HD 600 model. All said and done I can’t say anything bad about the HD 620S. Yes, it may not produce the widest soundstage and isolation could be better, but it does extremely well in every other aspect and that’s why it gets the Golden Award.
