CONCLUSION

   After using the Survivor Camper Powerbank 42k by Sandberg for over 3 weeks with several smartphones, tablets, music players and headsets (aside 2 USB measuring tools) i was able to record a maximum output of around 33.000mAh which although not close to the 42.000mAh of advertised capacity (no powerbank is able to deliver 100% via USB - even less via the cigarette lighter) it's still a very high number. This of course means that the Survivor Camper is able to recharge most current smartphones up to 9-10 times (older models even more – depends of course on battery capacity) so it should be more than enough to cover 2-3 people for the duration of their activities (for a full week that is). Also, worth pointing out is that the Survivor Camper is not really waterproof, at least not with the full meaning of the word. Yes, it can withstand water jets but you can’t actually submerge it into water. As for the 6W LED torch it’s clearly the most powerful I’ve seen used with a powerbank.

   So just how much will the Survivor Camper 42000mAh set you back? Well right now it retails for no less than around 200Euros inside the EU and yes that’s a rather hefty price tag, for a powerbank that is. Still people who need what the Sandberg Survivor Camper offers will probably not care much about its price and this product is clearly aimed towards that segment of the market. Bottom line we have a powerbank with a rugged enclosure, massive 42k lithium-ion battery pack, multiple outputs and a very large LED torch and those reasons are the why the Survivor Camper by Sandberg gets the Golden Award.
