HARMAN International, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. focused on connected technologies for automotive, consumer and enterprise markets, today announced corporate support and financial donations to aid the relief and recovery efforts for the communities impacted by Hurricane Harvey. Houston and other regions of southeastern Texas are facing catastrophic loss as a result of the storm, which was the worst the state has endured in recent history and is expected to leave billions of dollars in damages in its wake.

HARMAN has pledged a $25,000 gift to Team Rubicon, a disaster relief organization established and operated by veterans and first responders. HARMAN is also partnering with Music for Relief, the nonprofit founded by JBL brand ambassador Linkin Park, to establish a fund for employees to make personal donations to support Hurricane Harvey disaster relief efforts. HARMAN will match total employee donations up to $10,000.

In addition to raising much needed funds, HARMAN employees in Richardson, TX and Plano, TX are actively organizing volunteer efforts, and gathering desperately needed supplies for the 5,000 evacuees who are finding refuge at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center. HARMAN employees are also supporting the Dallas Dog Rescue Rehab Reform (RRR), which has taken in hundreds of dogs and cats left behind in the flood.

“Our hearts go out to all those impacted by the devastation caused by Hurricane Harvey,” said Paula Davis, Senior Vice President of Corporate Affairs & Communications at HARMAN. “Joining with the rest of the nation, we offer our support to Houston and the valiant efforts of so many service members and volunteers, including our own employees, to recover and rebuild communities there.”
