Panasonic today announced the latest improvements to the world’s leading industrial tablet cementing its position as the mobile diagnostic device of choice for the European automotive industry. The Panasonic Toughbook CF-D1 mk3 delivers 50% more battery life, an improved viewing screen, more performance from less power, improved communications and the latest Windows 10 Pro operating system.

Designed for diagnostics

The Toughbook CF-D1 was designed with and for technicians performing diagnostics on engines, automobiles, trucks and machines in either the workshop or field environment, as well as emergency services command and response teams that need large and clear screen visibility to display technical drawings and maps.

50% more operating time

This latest generation device delivers a 50% improvement on battery life with up to 12 hours*1 of operating time between charges.

Wide angled screen clarity

The 13.3” widescreen HD LCD display with LED backlight, designed for real-time diagnostic programmes, reading telematic data and viewing schematics, has been upgraded with the latest IPS display technology (400cd/m²). Ideal for use indoors or outside in bright sunlight, the IPS display ensures technicians can see the detail on the screen with crystal clear clarity from the widest viewing angles. The resistive touchscreen allows for easy data input using fingers, gloves or a pen even in wet condition.

More power from less energy

The latest Panasonic Toughbook CF-D1 notebook delivers more performance for less power than its category competitors with the 6th Generation latest Intel® CoreTM i5-6300U vProTM Processor (3 MB cache, 2.4GHz up to 3.0GHz with Intel® Turbo Boost Technology).

Latest operating system

The latest Windows 10 Pro (64 bit) operating system is pre-installed and offers downgrade rights to Windows 7 professional with extended Microsoft Windows 7 Skylake system support*2, buying time for those businesses still to upgrade.

Latest communications

Latest communication capabilities are delivered with Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 8260 WLAN and V4.1 class 1 Bluetooth. There is also a high-resolution 5 megapixels rear camera, to capture diagnostic documentation or paper information electronically.

Triple modular bay designed for customisation

Designed specifically to meet the wide-ranging needs of diagnostic technicians, the device has configurable triple bay ports fully designed for customisation, and able to support all specialist ports for reliable diagnostic data transmission. The ports can be easily configured to meet specific requirements such as a Serial or VGA interface, a second LAN port or up to two rugged USB connectors.

A wide range of security features, including Intel® AMT, vProTM (optional), Security lock and Smartcard reader (optional), maintains the highest security requirements for data protection.

The CF-D1 has all the rugged elements expected in a Toughbook. Drop tested to a height of 90cm*3 and with water and dust protection giving it an impressive IP65*3 rating.
