Amped Wireless, the leading manufacturer of high power, long range wireless solutions for the home and office, today announced the next model in its TAP Series of Touch Screen Wi-Fi devices, the TAP-EX2. The TAP-EX2 is a High Power Touch Screen AC750 Wi-Fi Range Extender and was recently chosen as a 2015 CES Innovations Design and Engineering Awards Honoree. Designed to boost any existing Wi-Fi network, the TAP-EX2 eliminates Wi-Fi dead spots and provides ultra-fast 802.11ac connections.

This Range Extender is sleek and compact, but it is a true powerhouse with the industry’s most simple setup. It boosts the signal of a Wi-Fi router by repeating and amplifying the signal, extending Wi-Fi coverage to areas like upstairs rooms, out to the yard, or to the far office. Standard Wi-Fi devices utilize only 50mW of output power. While the TAP-EX2 delivers up to 800mW of Wi-Fi output power, all in an attractive table-top design. More output power means more Wi-Fi range, it allows a signal to push through walls and eliminate Wi-Fi dead spots for good. With 6 total amplifiers and high gain antennas (one dual band external, one internal), the TAP-EX2 provides up to 10,000 square feet of extended coverage.

The setup of the TAP-EX2 is done entirely on the touch screen display.  After powering on the Extender, the user taps to scan for the Wi-Fi network  they would like to extend, then selects that network from the list and setup is  complete. The touch screen also allows the user to control many features of the  Range Extender including the setup and management of Guest Networks, the Wi-Fi  Access Schedule, User Access Controls, the strength of the Wi-Fi signal in  Signal Coverage Controls and many other settings.
