Sony today expanded its C-Series line up of projectors with the launch of three updated BrightEra<sup™< sup=""> 3LCD models: the VPL-CW276, VPL-CW256 and VPL-CX236. Sony’s BrightEra technology coupled with the 3LCD light source delivers high picture quality, bright images, high efficiency, sharp contrast and consistent colour stability. The addition of these models further expands Sony’s offering for education and corporate environments, bringing affordable cutting edge projector technology to a broader range of channel partners and customers.
Sony also announced the market availability of the VPL-CH355 and VPL-CH375 WUXGA projectors with HDBaseT connectivity, announced at InfoComm 2014.
“Our latest line of cost-effective C-Series models brings the quality, reliability and ease of operation Sony is famous for to more customers than ever before,” said Robert Meakin, Product Manager at Sony Professional Solutions Europe. “Coupled with environmental benefits and a low total cost of ownership, we’re bringing brighter images that are better on the eyes, better on the planet, and better on the wallet.”
Easy operation and stunning images in meeting rooms and classrooms
The updated C-Series models are designed to deliver a low total cost of ownership and include easy-to-operate, environmentally-conscious features without compromising on superior quality and reliability. The projectors are ideal for most large classrooms or large meeting rooms. The VPL-CX236 projector offers a 4100-lumen brightness and 1.66 - 2.41:1 throw ratio whereas the VPL-CW256 and VPL-CW276 offer a 4500 and 5100 lumen brightness and 1.32 -1.91:1 throw ratio. In addition, the VPL-CX236 features three brightness modes to suit each individual user’s needs. One of these, the low brightness mode, generates lower operating costs by reducing power consumption and extending the lamp lifetime to approximately 5,000 hours.
The new projectors are also equipped with reduced fan noise thanks to its whisper operation, as well as two newly installed HDMI ports and come with horizontal and vertical lens shift functions for greater installation flexibility. Using this function, the position of the projected image can be moved vertically up and down by 5.0% and horizontally from -3.0% through to +3.0% on the VPL-CW256 and VPL-CW276 projectors and from -4.0% through to +4.0% on the VPL-CX236 and VPL-CX276 projectors.
Availability of the VPL-CH355 and VPL-CH375 projectors
Sony’s enhancement to the C-Series installation projectors also coincides with the market availability cost-effective VPL-CH355 and VPL-CH375 models. These two models feature WUXGA resolution, Auto Dimming to gradually reduce power and brightness and ECO PIC Mute (Blanking) node to reduce power consumption when not in use, as well as an Auto Brightness Mode that adjusts the brightness (Up/Down) based on the image projected. They also include HDBaseT connection, enabling easier connectivity and reducing total system costs by using fewer cables, signal extenders and receiver boxes and decreasing the risk of failure points. Optional Wireless is also included for wider connectivity capabilities, making the VPL-CH355 and VPL-CH375 an ideal solution for the education and corporate markets.
The VPL-CH355 and VPL-CH375 models are available in November and the upgraded VPL-CW276, VPL-CW256 and VPL-CX236 will be available early January 2015. For more information, visit www.sony.co.uk/pro/products/projectors-home
