Sharp Europe today announces an updated version of its meeting support application, Touch Display Link 2.0, which connects a Sharp BIG PAD collaborative touch screen to up to 50 mobile devices on the same network. Touch Display Link allows for screen sharing and file transfer between BIG PAD, tablets and smart phones, and lets users control BIG PAD remotely, including using its handwriting tool.

“Our research with office workers found that generally, meetings are not set up to allow everyone to contribute, with only 42% of people describing the meetings they have at work as “collaborative.” BIG PAD and Touch Display Link have collaboration built-in.”

New functions for Touch Display Link 2.0 include:

• Suitability for enterprises and large offices: Up to 50 devices can be connected to the host BIG PAD, including Apple, Android and Windows PC devices. Devices need to be on the same network, but can be used remotely, for example, by people working in a different office or at home.
• Handwriting tools: Users can write on BIG PAD, through their device, by accessing its Pen Software. BIG PAD lets up to four users write simultaneously, using wirelessly connected touch pens.
• Photo sharing: Users can take a photo with their device and share it. An “image correction” feature corrects skewed images before they are displayed.

• Note taking: Personal memos can be created on mobile devices by taking a snapshot from the host BIG PAD and annotating it on the local device.
• Automatic meeting record: After a meeting, the content that has been displayed on BIG PAD can be saved and sent to all devices.

With a wide range of interactive features, including simultaneous writing by up to four people and data sharing with remote places, Sharp’s BIG PAD is perfect for letting groups collaborate on ideas in meetings and speeding up tasks which require input from multiple users, by using one highly engaging interactive whiteboard.

Touch Display Link 2.0 is preinstalled on Sharp’s BIG PAD A model. It is an optional extra on BIG PAD B model.
