SpaceX founder Elon Musk unveiled the commercial space venture’s second-generation space capsule Thursday night.

And our NVIDIA Tegra processors will go along for the ride.

The Dragon V2 space capsule will give NASA the ability to put up to 7 astronauts into space for roughly $20 million a seat, according to Musk.

That’s a fraction of the $71 million charged by Russia to ferry astronauts to the International Space Station.

The U.S. hasn’t had manned spaceflight capability since it ended the Space Shuttle program in 2011.

We’ll be returning to space in style. SpaceX and NASA have poured advanced technologies into Dragon V2.

Phenolic Impregnated Carbon Ablator – or PICA-X 3 – heat shields will protect crew members.

SpaceX’s SuperDraco engine will propel the capsule. And astronauts will use two sets of two 17-inch touch screens powered by NVIDIA’s Tegra processor to control the ship.
