Thanks for using our Panasonic Toughbook products. We’ve just become aware of an issue with the battery packs included in our Toughbook CF-H2 tablet PC series manufactured from June, 2011 through to May, 2012 – and those sold as accessories or used as replacements during servicing. Because of a manufacturing problem, these particular battery packs may overheat and, in rare instances, cause the notebook to ignite.
To prevent any accidents, Panasonic will replace these battery packs free of charge. Please check the model number and lot number of your tablet PC battery pack. If yours is one of the ones affected, turn off your tablet PC, remove the pack and contact us straight away.
How to identify if your battery pack is affected:
1. Recalled units
|
(*1) Manufacturing period of the identified CF-H2 model
2. The way to check for recalled battery packs
2.1 Check to see that the label of a tablet PC shows “Panasonic CF-H2”.
2.2 If so, shut down the PC and remove the battery pack.
Please note that there are a total of two battery slots; one on the left and one on the right side of the Toughbook CF-H2.
2.3 Check battery pack model number and manufacturing lot number. Check the battery pack model number and manufacturing lot number on the nameplate of the removed battery pack.
Only battery packs showing both the battery pack model number and manufacturing lot numbers specified below need to be replaced.
Model number and manufacturing lot number of battery pack.
