CHINO, CA – May 5, 2014 - Amped Wireless, the leading manufacturer of high power, long-range wireless solutions for the home and office, today announced the availability of the new BoostBand™ Technology firmware update for their popular SR20000G Wi-Fi Extender. The SR20000G is a High Power 600mW Gigabit Dual Band Range Extender that extends the range of an existing Wi-Fi network by up to 10,000 square feet.
Now with the help of Amped Wireless’ exclusive Boostband™ Technology, the SR20000G is even more powerful. This new technology increases the overall speed and performance of the Range Extender by streamlining dual band network traffic between the Extender and the router through a single Wi-Fi frequency band. When enabled, BoostBand™ Technology will route all data through the fastest frequency band, typically the 5GHz connection. Utilizing a single frequency provides the SR20000G with more computing power to devote to delivering data packets faster, resulting in faster downloads, media streaming, and data transfers. With BoostBand™ Technology, users can still connect to the Range Extender using both 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequencies.
“These Range Extenders that we manufacture are designed to live in a home for many years.” explained Lacey Neddo, Brand/Marketing Manager of Amped Wireless. “Over the lifespan of these products, technologies change, the way we use the Internet changes and innovations are made. With this firmware update customers can continue to optimize their Amped Wireless hardware for the ever-changing Internet environment. While we may have first released the SR20000G in 2012, BoostBand Technology is a new innovation that we are able to share with existing Amped customers and continue to improve their Wi-Fi experience.”
The SR20000G has a retail price of $129.99 and is available for order from the Amped Wireless Store, at major brick and mortar retailers, and online retailers. For more information and to place orders, visit SR20000G.
