Sony today  announced the launch of its new W6 BRAVIA Professional displays offering Full  HD as well as HTML5 capability.

The W6  series, available in 40", 48" and 60” formats, is ideally suited to  corporate meeting rooms for high quality presentations and video conferencing, but also perfect for  displays in learning environments or providing easy digital signage applications  for retail venues and public spaces.

This  competitively-priced, slim, energy-efficient Full HD LED display offers HDMI,  D-Sub 15, USB and Ethernet connections, with a simple screen-mirroring feature  for smartphones or Tablets. Users can connect to the Internet to run apps and  view web pages via the in-built browser, or use the browser to play cloud-based  or local media content.

The Professional  display range includes USB playback, IP control, RS232C control (with optional  accessory), Hotel Mode functionality and web-friendly HTML5 digital signage  without the need for an external player. U-Touch overlays are designed to fit  easily on the Sony BRAVIA to turn the screen into a 6 multi-point interactive  display.

The W6  BRAVIA range can access content by connecting to a PC via the D-Sub connector  or one of four HDMI ports, direct from USB flash memory inputs in any of 37  file formats, or by using the cutting-edge screen-mirroring feature which  allows users to establish a Wi-Fi connection between the display and a smartphone  or Tablet. Sony's Advanced Motionflow XR picture processing accurately  reproduces fast-moving on-screen action in videos or animations.

“The  W6 is a great addition to the Sony BRAVIA Professional display offering. Users  want affordable displays that are flexible enough to play almost any digital  content through almost any type of connection,” said Thomas Issa, Display  Product manager at Sony Europe. “The HTML5 capability and our sharp picture allow  users to display rich multimedia giving their video, signage, demonstrations  and communication an unrivalled combination of clarity and control.”

The W6  BRAVIA Professional displays include eco-conscious features that can also lower  energy bills: Frame Dimming intelligently adjusts backlight levels to save  energy, and display brightness automatically adjusts to suit ambient lighting  conditions, reducing energy consumption without compromising picture quality.

The 40"  W6 BRAVIA Professional display will be available from April 2014, with the  48" and 60" models to follow later this summer.
