Asetek Inc., the world’s leading supplier of liquid cooling solutions for computers announced today that its liquid cooling technology will be used to cool the limited edition Asus ROG ARES II Graphics Card. The card features dual AMD Radeon™ HD 7970 Ghz Edition GPUs, 6GB GDDR5 memory and a hybrid liquid/air cooling system that provides supreme graphics performance.
The ARES II card utilizes Asetek’s proven, maintenance free, factory sealed liquid cooling technology to cool the two powerful GPUs. This liquid cooled design assures continuous stability even under full load, achieving up to 31ºC cooler operation compared to a reference GTX 690. Furthermore, the 2-slot height is the same size as the air-cooled versions, and the 120mm radiator will easily fit into most PC cases.
Asetek’s liquid cooling system delivers significant benefits to the ARES II graphics card. Gamers will see much quieter acoustics, significantly lower GPU and component temperatures, and faster performance compared to air-cooled HD 7970 GPUs. With increased overclocking headroom, the liquid GPU cooler is an ideal complement for Asus’s flagship graphic’s card designed for maximum overclockability and performance, and provides an overall better experience for gamers. Additionally, users can expect much less noise because the fans aren’t forced to run at maximum speed to dissipate the heat. A quieter gaming environment allows for more concentration. With more than 1.3 million units in the field today, Asetek’s liquid cooling provides worry free operation to gamers and PC enthusiasts alike.
“Asetek has a history of being on the leading edge of PC enthusiast hardware,” said Andre Eriksen, Asetek’s CEO and founder. “The new Asus ROG ARES II premium graphics card delivers better performance, lower temperatures and acoustics to gamers with the reliability and ease of installation that Asetek liquid cooling is known for. For gamers looking for the ultimate graphics card, this is it.”
The ARES II will be limited to only 1,000 units and will ship in a ROG-themed case. Each card will feature a laser-etched serial number, further cementing its status as a collectible. Availability and pricing will be announced closer to product launch and may vary by market.
