cougar attack x3 rgbb

The original Attack X3 Mechanical Gaming Keyboard may not have featured RGB illumination but thanks to its design, brushed aluminum top face, sturdy construction, dedicated volume keys and UIX system it was considered as a very good choice for gamers not just by us but also from many in the gaming community. The RGB version of the Attack X3 is an obvious update to its predecessor since it allows the end user to use an improved illumination system (it’s certainly worth pointing out that it features very bright keys which may also be the reason for the dual USB plugs) but it’s not an overall update across the board. The reason we say this is that on one hand the new Attack X3 RGB doesn’t feature the dedicated volume keys used in its predecessor while on the other it uses not one but two USB plugs something which we see mostly with keyboards featuring at least one USB passthrough. Granted these are not very important and I really doubt most people would even notice them but especially the lack of dedicated volume keys is something we just can’t explain.

The newly launched Attack X3 RGB Mechanical Gaming Keyboard by COUGAR currently retails for USD109.90 inside the USA (Amazon.com) and for 128Euros inside the EU (Amazon.co.uk) a price tag which is roughly 30% higher than what the original Attack X3 retailed for at launch. Of course if you’re into RGB gaming peripherals that price increase will probably not matter much but if you’re just looking for a good mechanical gaming keyboard and you don’t care about RGB then I really suggest going for the original Attack X3 especially if you happen to reside in the USA. That being said the Attack X3 RGB Mechanical Gaming Keyboard may not be at the top when it comes to available features but it’s a sturdy model with RGB illumination and Cherry MX keys thus more than qualified for our Golden Award.
