Attending LAN events usually means you get to see and even get your hands on most if not all of the latest gaming peripherals to hit the market (by whoever manufacturer or manufacturers are sponsoring it). However although to date those events were filled with LCD screens, keyboards, mice, pads, headsets and even apparel now they are also filled with all the latest gaming chair models so it goes without saying really that gaming peripheral manufacturers have high hopes for them. Well judging by all the people who have asked us to further expand our reviews section to include more models and also by all the sales numbers we’re getting by some of those manufacturers it seems they are right on the spot. Today’s review is not only our 15th gaming chair review but also for one of the few models marketed after a game and more specifically the Arozzi Vernazza World Of Tanks Edition.

Arozzi is a Swedish company founded in 2013. Arozzi gaming chairs are built in the spirit of Esports and feature ergonomic design with high levels of comfort. Our products have a refined aesthetic that draws inspiration from the world of motorsports. Each Arozzi chair can be finely adjusted to your needs to ensure you are in the best position to achieve your next victory, whatever the game!

The Vernazza line of gaming chairs by Arozzi may not be among the most popular ones in the market today but if you're looking for a rather large and very comfortable chair the Vernazza WOT Edition might just be it. You see not only does the Vernazza WOT Edition have one of the tallest (86cm) and widest backrests in the market today (48cm) but it also has a large seat (44cm width with 52cm depth) and a very good amount of foam density/padding (65kg/m3 for the backrest and 70kg/m3 for the seat). It also features a metal frame for increased durability, PU leather cover, 3D adjustable armrests (height, rotation and position), premium 70mm caster wheels, class-4 gaslift (supports up to 160kg total including the top body of the chair), height adjusting mechanism (47cm-54cm), 5 star nylon base, removable neck and back pillows (the neck pillow is extra-large in size and specially designed for optimal comfort), backrest adjustment (up to roughly 160 degrees - Arozzi states 180 degrees but just like with other manufacturers that's including the tilt function) and up to 12 degrees tilt function. Of course one of the best features of this chair is the black and orange color combination chosen by Arozzi and if all of the above weren't just enough to seal the deal they also bundle a WOT bonus card with which you're getting some premium in-game goodies both for you (including the Russian SU-122-44 self-propelled gun, 1 garaze slot and a 3-day premium account) and a friend (German PZ.KPFW T25 Tank plus 1 garaze slot and a 3-day premium account) .

PACKAGING AND CONTENTS

arozzi vernazza wot 1tOnce again Arozzi send their chair inside a box filled with product pictures on all sides.

Typically the entire bundle is placed in plastic bags and between thick pieces of foam and cardboard.

The 5-star nylon base was the first piece to come out of the box.

Nylon bases may not weigh as much as steel ones but they do look and feel a lot better (not to mention they can't be scratched as easily).

Once again both the neck and lumbar support pillows are already mounted on the backrest.

The seat with the two 3D armrests was next (if you've been playing WOT then you know what the markings at the front of the seat represent).

Next we took out the class-4 gaslift with its plastic cover and the Z-support height and tilt/rock mechanism.

Finally we took out a box inside which Arozzi had placed the two backrest plastic covers, z-support mechanism levers, five 70mm caster wheels, pair of cloth gloves, Allen key, assembly instructions, safety precautions paper and a paper with the WOT bonus codes.

ASSEMBLY

arozzi vernazza wot 9tManufacturers usually instruct people to start assembly from the seat and backrest but we always do from the base by attaching the wheels to it as seen above.

70mm are somewhat rare and i do prefer them over 55-65mm ones.

Next we mounted the class-4 gaslift with its plastic cover (some have covers at the top which need to be removed).

The seat features two extra metal flat bars and two green elastic bands for increased durability and support.

Each armrest is secured onto the seat with a total of 4 Allen screws (8 in total).

Another 4 Allen screws are required to secure the height and tilt/rocking mechanism onto the seat (mounting the plastic levers is very easy).

There are two Allen screws mounted on each side of the backrest along with a small cut in between as seen above.

Once you’ve secured all Allen screws you can use the bundled covers as seen above.

The top end of the chair is now assembled so all that’s left is to place it onto the class-4 gaslift.

FINISHED LOOKS

arozzi vernazza wot 20tWhen finished the Vernazza WOT Edition certainly stands out compared to most gaming chairs out there.

The WOT logo is placed on both the head of the backrest and the extra-large sculpted neck pillow.

The full name of the game with its logo is placed on the back support pillow.

Stitching quality is very good but it is these carbon like pieces really stand out.

The 3D armrests can extend in height from 28.5cm all the way up to 35.5cm.

Both armrests can also move forward and backwards and face left and right as showcased above.

Again the backrest can drop up to 160 degrees to allow for a quick nap.

TEST RESULTS

score

Many of you recommended (including some manufacturers) that we place a chart pointing to the pros and cons of each gaming chair we test. Now of course since there's really no way for us to "benchmark" gaming chairs we decided to rate them based on their size, comfort and quality. Size and comfort usually go hand to hand (the larger the chair the more comfortable it usually is - also depends on the amount of padding) while in terms of quality having tested 15 models currently we think we have a good idea about that as well. Of course these scores are based on our personal opinions regarding each chair so do take them with a grain of salt.

CONCLUSION

arozzi vernazza wotb

Having played World Of Tanks while even in the first stages of development the Vernazza WOT Edition by Arozzi is a gaming chair we always wanted to see. The black and orange color combination is great (one of my favorite ones actually), quality is very good (the carbon like pieces add to both quality and appearance), comfort levels are very high not only to the size of the chair (ideal even for large people) and its big support pillows but also thanks to the high padding levels and in terms of features it lacks almost nothing compared to more expensive models (the Z-support mechanism is something we don’t see often even with more expensive gaming chairs). On top of all the above add the fact that Arozzi is throwing in a World Of Tanks bonus card worth roughly USD40/37Euros and you get the ideal chair for gamers who are into that particular game (or who may want to start).

Since the Vernazza World Of Tanks Edition by Arozzi is a “special” item we never expected for it to come cheap (we imagine buying the rights from Wargaming must have cost them quite a bit) and with a current price tag set at 359Euros (directly from Arozzi) it’s certainly not. At the same time however there are many gaming chairs out in the market that cost just as much and offer even less so at the end of the day it all comes down to whether or not WOT is a game you play and/or if the chair offers what you’d like in terms of design, quality, size and features. Overall we feel that the Vernazza WOT Edition is one of the best gaming chairs in the market today designed solely for gamers (not general desk/office use) and for that it gets our Platinum Award.
