With the relatively recent introduction of our new LGA2011 CPU Cooler database based on our primary Intel Core i7 3930k some of you have asked if it's possible for us to test some of the older coolers i reviewed a long time ago. Unfortunately many of those are not LGA2011 compatible, at least not up until this moment and even if they were i simply lack the time to do something like that from scratch especially since that would also mean delaying tests/reviews of brand new products. However today we will be taking a look at a product which i also reviewed in the past and more specifically the NH-C14 high performance low-profile CPU Cooler by Noctua.

Designed in Austria, Noctua's premium cooling components are internationally renowned for their superb quietness, exceptional performance and thoroughgoing quality. Having received more than 1000 awards and recommendations from leading hardware websites and magazines, Noctua's fans and heatsinks are chosen by more than a hundred thousand satisfied customers around the globe. Noctua comes from a cooperation of the Austrian Rascom Computerdistribution Ges.m.b.H. with the Taiwanese cooling specialist Kolink International Corporation, pooling more than ten years of experience in the development, manufacturing and marketing of high-end cooling components. Established in 2005, Noctua took the international silent enthusiasts' hearts by storm and quickly developed into one of the most acclaimed suppliers of premium quality quiet cooling products. Today, Noctua is present in more than 30 countries across the globe and working with several hundred sales partners. Chosen by noise conscious PC users, system integrators and industry clients alike, Noctua has become synonymous with impeccable quality, excellent customer service and class leading quiet cooling performance.

The reason as to why i chose the NH-C14 low-profile CPU Cooler by Noctua for this review is because most of you specifically asked to see how it performs against the latest NH-L12 and since it wasn't really hard for me to acquire it once again, this time with LGA2011 support, i simply went for it (i was also quite interested to see how it did compared to the NH-L12). Of course due to its large sized heatsink and two 140mm fans it's quite clear that there's not a low-profile CPU Cooler in the market currently that can compete with the NH-C14, still we happen to like accuracy and so just being better than the competition is not good enough for us and that's why we will be testing it with our latest LGA2011 system and against its new brother, the NH-L12.
