Toshiba Electronics Europe GmbH (TEE) has announced the world’s first[1] 14 TB[2] server hard disk drive (HDD) MG07ACA series will join its portfolio of enterprise and consumer HDD products on stand at CEBIT 2018.

Toshiba co-exhibiting with api Computerhandels GmbH will be located at Hall 13, Stand E58, where visitors will be able to see live demonstrations of storage server solutions with Toshiba enterprise hard disk drives throughout the four-day trade fair with the company also giving the results of its recent performance optimization benchmarking of HDD based enterprise storage solutions.

The displayed MG07ACA 3.5-inch enterprise capacity hard drive series is the world’s first 9-disk helium-sealed design with CMR (conventional magnetic recording), suitable for all server and storage applications. It delivers 14 TB capacity, spinning at 7200 rpm and comes with a SATA 6 Gbit/s Interface. The drive is intended for applications including cloud-scale storage and software-defined data centre infrastructure.

The company’s 2018 line-up of internal HDDs will also be on display, this includes its N300 NAS Hard Drive, the X300 Performance Hard Drive and the L200 Laptop PC Hard Drive, which have recently been extended with models of higher capacities and certain specifications. In addition, Toshiba will demonstrate its new families of internal hard drive: the S300 Surveillance Hard Drive and V300 Video Streaming Hard Drive.

The S300 series combines up to 10 TB of storage with a 256 MB[3] data buffer and mean time to failure of 1 million hours. It is designed to manage the vast amount of data that comes from an array of up to 64[4] security cameras running 24/7.
The V300 series delivers up to 3 TB of storage, is optimised for 24/7[5] operation and implements a SATA 6.0 Gbit/s interface plus a low-spin design to improve energy efficiency. It has been created for use in digital (DVR) and network video recorders (NVR).

Furthermore, Toshiba will display its external CANVIO Advance and CANVIO Premium Hard Drives. These models allow private users to backup and store up to 3 TB of data. Depending on the model and customer needs, they come with a choice of glossy piano or aluminium finish, a two or three-year warranty and features including Toshiba Storage Security Software for password security and the Toshiba Storage Backup Software for automated backing up of data. For extra connectivity the CANVIO Premium will be delivered with a Type-A to Type-C USB adaptor.

Toshiba’s Rainer Kaese, Senior Manager, HDD business unit, said: “Across the range, our whole line-up of HDDs has been strengthened.  We’d be delighted to talk you through the products and give demonstrations on the stand. We look forward to seeing you there.”
