ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) today announced the updated Zephyrus (GX501GI), an ultra-slim gaming laptop powered by the latest 8th Generation Intel® Core™ i7 processor and NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1080 (Max-Q) graphics. The Zephyrus has an IPS-level display with a 144Hz refresh rate, 3ms gray-to-gray (GTG) response time, 100% sRGB color gamut and NVIDIA G-SYNC™ for super-smooth and vivid gaming visuals. The 15.6-inch Zephyrus features the ROG-exclusive Active Aerodynamic System (AAS) — a specially designed cooling system that includes Anti-Dust and Fan Overboost technologies for enhanced cooling. The Zephyrus also features ASUS Aura Sync light effects, and is compatible with other Aura Sync-enabled accessories and peripherals.

World’s slimmest gaming laptop with gaming desktop-like performance The Zephyrus has a blade-inspired design and has a profile that tapers from 17.9mm down to just 16.9mm at its thinnest point. It’s currently the world’s thinnest gaming laptop that’s powered by the latest 8th Generation Intel Core i7 processor and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 (Max-Q) graphics, delivering unstoppable gaming performance. The incredible CPU and GPU combination allows the Zephyrus to compete successfully with larger gaming laptops and desktops.

ROG-exclusive cooling system The exclusive AAS allows the Zephyrus to run cooler and quieter without sacrificing performance. It incorporates unique AeroAccelerator (AA) and Anti-Dust Cooling technologies, and powerful 12-volt fans to increase the speed and efficiency of airflow through the laptop. The fans feature a curved fan shroud designed to enhance airflow to channel heat away from internal components more effectively. When the Zephyrus is opened, a portion of the bottom of the chassis flexes to increase the airflow volume by 20%.

Gaming keyboard with Aura Sync lighting The Zephyrus has a keyboard that sits right at the front of the chassis — a design that allows for better cooling of internal components, and provides gamers accustomed to desktop keyboards a more familiar gaming experience. It features anti-ghosting and N-key rollover so all keystrokes are correctly logged. The keys have been ergonomically-designed to provide optimum comfort and typing accuracy. A touchpad situated to the right of the keyboard features a numeric keypad function that can be easily activated by a hotkey. The touchpad backlight glows red to reveal the keypad when activated. Aura Sync provides six dynamic and customizable light effects across the entire keyboard, and can be synchronized with other Aura Sync-compatible products to create a gaming setup with a consistent look and feel.

Ultra-smooth gaming visuals and versatile connectivity The Zephyrus has an IPS-level panel with a 144Hz refresh rate and 3ms GTG response time for superfast visuals with minimal ghosting and motion blur. In addition, NVIDIA G-SYNC display technology synchronizes the display’s refresh rate with the NVIDIA GeForce graphics card’s frame rate, ensuring ultra-smooth visuals. G-SYNC reduces lag, minimizes perceived stutter, and eliminates visual tearing — providing the smoothest, fastest and most breathtaking gaming imaginable, without affecting system performance. The panel also features a 100% sRGB color gamut and wide-view technology to ensure lifelike colors, even when viewing the display from extreme positions. The Zephyrus also includes a range of connectivity options, including a USB Type-C™ (USB-C™) port with Thunderbolt™ 3 and HDMI 2.0 for G-SYNC and 4K UHD display output, fast data transfers and power delivery.
