Toshiba Electronics Europe announces today that Dell EMC’s is now incorporating Toshiba’s HK4 Series 1.8” and 2.5” Data Center SATA SSDs into Dell EMC’s PowerEdge 13G Servers.

Toshiba’s HK4 Series SATA SSDs offer enterprise-optimized latency, power, performance and encryption capabilities for enterprise applications such as web servers, files servers, media streaming, video-on-demand, search engines and warm data storage. The HK Series is equipped with Toshiba’s proprietary Quadruple Swing-By Code (QSBC) error correction technology, a highly efficient error correction code (ECC) providing improved data protection and reliability.

“Dell EMC customers will now have more choices with this new collaboration, and the addition of Toshiba data center SSDs will offer customers choice in reliable, high performing and secure technology to support enterprise environments and applications,” said Ravi Pendekanti, senior vice president server solutions product management and marketing at Dell EMC “An enhanced Dell EMC PowerEdge 13G Server portfolio with Toshiba HK4 encrypted data center SSDs offers our customers better options for securing their critical company data.”

As previously announced, new IDC market reports[1] identified Toshiba as the fastest growing vendor in both the worldwide $25 billion hard disk drive (HDD) segment, as well as in the $17 billion solid state drive (SSD) segment in 2016 over 2015, as measured by revenue and units. Toshiba consistently pushes to strengthen its SSD line-up and develop game-changing storage technologies for data center and enterprise storage in order to meet the demanding needs of its customers and partners.
