As students head back to school, Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc. is proud to announce its second annual Safe & Sound Tour, a campaign created to encourage safer driving among teens. For the 2016 tour, Pioneer will again team up with the Mobile Electronics Specialist of America (M.E.S.A.) retailer group to connect with high schools throughout the nation and demonstrate innovative driving technologies at football games. Teens and parents in attendance will have the opportunity to get a hands-on look at new products and receive product discounts and/or free basic installations offered by the local retailer.

Each participating school will receive a donation from Pioneer. During its inaugural program, Pioneer donated a total of $50,000 to schools nationwide and will make a similar contribution this year. Check presentations and product demonstrations will take place at varsity home games during the fall football season.

“Last year’s program was extremely successful and everyone involved had a great experience. We’re excited to run this tour again and connect with a new group of students and parents,” said Ted Cardenas, vice president of marketing, Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc. “It is our goal to educate younger drivers about advanced technologies and encourage them to use attentive driving habits. Pioneer’s products make it easier for drivers to update their vehicles with the latest connectivity options and better audio, which are particularly ideal for teens driving older vehicles.”

Through M.E.S.A. retailers, Pioneer will showcase its third generation Networked Entertainment eXperience (NEX) in-dash multimedia receivers to 45 participating high schools. The latest NEX models, the AVIC-8200NEX, AVIC-7200NEX and AVH-4200NEX, complement today’s connected lifestyle and feature both Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay® connectivity, allowing drivers to connect their compatible smartphones to their vehicles in a smarter and safer way. Retailers will also showcase Pioneer’s audio products that bring high-quality sound and entertainment to the driving experience. Pioneer’s TS-D component speakers, shallow subwoofer and 5-channel amplifier will be on display as solutions for improving a vehicle’s sound quality and audio capabilities.
