QNAP® Systems, Inc. today announced that development and support for Digital TV Station (an app for watching and recording TV online with QNAP NAS) will be discontinued in order to focus on developing new apps for an improved and more specialized user experience. Software updates and technical support for Digital TV Station will be ceased, and the app will be removed from QTS App Center.

"QNAP is dedicated to providing the best multimedia solutions to meet the needs of the fast-moving world of online video platforms, changing user behavior, and evolving usage trends. In order to help us reach this goal, we have regretfully decided to discontinue support for Digital TV Station in order to free up the resources required to create the next-generation of multimedia apps," said Shirley Kao, Product Manager of QNAP.

QNAP currently provides various apps on QTS App Center for managing multimedia files, including Photo Station for browsing and sharing photos, Music Station for playing and sharing music, and Video Station for collecting and organizing video files. Most QNAP NAS models now support HDMI output for using HD Station that allow users to watch videos on YouTube™, enjoy music on Spotify®, and browse online content through Google Chrome™ or Mozilla Firefox®. QNAP will continue to enhance these apps to offer users the best possible multimedia entertainment experience.
