CARLSBAD, Calif. – Razer™, a world leader in connected devices and software for gamers, today announced a partnership with the International Game Developers Association (IGDA) to support and connect members within the video game industry.

The relationship will bolster the game developer scene through event support, discounts and membership opportunities. The IGDA is the world’s largest nonprofit membership organization serving individuals who create video games.

The association consists of a global network of collaborative projects and communities from the various fields of game development, from programmers and producers to writers, artists, quality assurance and localization.

Members of the IGDA will be offered developer discounts for Razer products, including the company’s award-winning systems, peripherals and software, as well as priority access to Razer’s development kits, including the Razer Nabu, the Open Source Virtual Reality (OSVR) Hacker Development Kit and more. (The IGDA is a supporter of the recently announced OSVR platform.) Razer will also provide support for IGDA at various events worldwide, beginning with the Game Developers Conference (GDC) in March.

At the same time, the IGDA will extend complimentary memberships to members of the Razer Indie Dev Program.

“Razer has a history of successfully connecting the various players in video game development,” says Min-Liang Tan, Razer co-founder and CEO.

“Partnering with IGDA is another way of extending our support to the people that make a difference in the industry.” Kate Edwards, IGDA executive director added, “With Razer’s great reputation in the industry, it was an ideal fit for the IGDA to partner with them to help provide our members with access to these cutting-edge products.”

Razer worked and shared expertise with game developers of all levels through the Razer Indie Dev Program and the release of various software development kits for Razer Comms, Razer Arena, the Chroma product range, OSVR and others.
