CPU Magazine Case Mod Competition

CPU Magazine always hosts a case mod contest within the PDXLAN February event and Thermaltake is not only happy to sponsor the event with prizes but even have great success with two of the top 5 winning chassis being Thermaltake models!

First up is the crazy custom modified Thermaltake Urban T81 chassis by Rod Rosenberg and Bob Stewart of BSMODS which entailed completely chopping down the top section of the chassis and even shortening the doors to better place the GPU at the top of the chassis for viewing. But not just that they also flipped the motherboard configuration to allow BTX style mounting and even relocation of the PSU and hardline tubing along with many other mods that number so high it’s impossible to list them all.

The extreme Thermaltake Core X9 mod “Brimstone” made by modder “Pennywise” is the very same mod which was shown in the Thermaltake CES suite just earlier this year. This mod is pretty crazy with full custom paint and windows along with full custom rigid tubing and custom case feet and full multi bay reservoir.

PDXLAN being fueled by legions of hardcore PC gamers and DIY enthusiasts means that attending and being involved with these sort of events is paramount to advancing and understanding just what these users need and showing them the critical advancements with our new chassis, cooling and gaming gear products designs to enhance the way we interact with our PCs.
