With the recent introduction of the Windows Storage Server 2012 R2 Essentials NAS, Thecus has provided consumers with a robust storage solution with familiar, easy to use software. The new, highly affordable NAS provide a comprehensive set of Windows features including Remote Web Access, which can be used by computers both on and off the network as well as mobile devices.

Remote Web Access enables users to stay connected while on the move. Simply use your Web browser to log on to the Remote Web Access site to access the Windows Storage Server Essentials Dashboard, shared folders, and computers on your network.

Once you are connected to the Dashboard, you can manage your network as if you were at your home or office. This includes all of the usual administrative tasks such as adding user accounts, adding shared folders, setting shared folder access, and much more. On your network you will be able to access computer desktops as if you were at your home or office.

How to get connected

From a computer or mobile device:

  1. Open a Web browser and type https://<YourDomainName>/remote in the address bar. Make sure that you include the ā€œsā€ in https.
  2. On the Remote Web Access logon page, type your user name and password in the text boxes, and then click the arrow.
