Acer has been awarded a substantial education tender  by the Ministry of Education and  Science of Georgia (MESG). This deal will meet the deployment of up to forty-seven  thousand Acer TravelMate B115 notebooks.


  The MESG notebook tender was among the largest  tenders requested in 2014 worldwide1.  For Acer, this is the largest tender awarded  in Europe this year and exemplifies the progress the Company is making in its commercial  PC business.


  The TravelMate B115 notebooks were recently delivered to the MESG and deployed to Georgian elementary and  middle schools. Through the introduction of the notebooks, the MESG aims to  foster a more modern, interactive and engaging educational environment for  Georgian children. The notebooks are bundled with Intel® Classroom  Management software, which allows educators to easily manage classrooms and  encourages collaboration that support diverse learning style, and digital content  for various subjects.


  According to Q2 2014 data from research firm IDC,  Acer made significant headway in the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East and  Africa), accomplishing more than 100% year-on-year shipment growth across 11  countries for Total Commercial PCs including, but not limited to, Austria, Germany,  Italy, the Netherlands, Poland and Turkey, and in 10 countries for Commercial  Portable PCs.


  The Ministry of Education and  Science of Georgia is a governmental body responsible for the country’s  education system, children’s services as well as promoting national scientific  development. It aims to establish a modern, innovative educational and scientific  environment for Georgians in close collaboration with civil society.
