The Acer Aspire R 13 convertible notebookhas been named by Laptop magazine as the “Best of IFA 2014” for “Best Hybrid.” It was one of only five products honored.
The 13.3-inch Aspire R 13 was just recently unveiled at IFA 2014 in Berlin and is one of Acer’s latest convertible notebooks. Less than 25.4 mm (1-inch) thin and just over 1.5 kg (3 lbs), the lightweight R 13 features Acer’s unique Ezel Aero Hinge™ that makes it incredibly versatile. Its display is affixed to this special hinge at the sides, which allows the screen to rotate 180-degrees so it can be used in six different modes – Notebook, Ezel, Stand, Pad, Tent, Display. The hinge offers easy transitioning between the different modes, yet it does not compromise on stability, allowing for a sturdy platform for touch controls.
The Aspire R 13’s touchscreen and outer lid are both encased in a slim, but strong, sheet of Corning® Gorilla® Glass 3, making it tough yet beautiful. The Aspire R 13 Series can also be used with an optional Acer Active Pen for drawing, creating and collaborating. The
pen comes with a pressure sensor for professional drawing and a hover sensor for easy access to functions.
In a recent hands-on review of the Aspire R 13 by V3.co.uk, the reviewer commended it for its “fresh and innovative design” and found it “performed quickly and responsively and it was fun to use.”
