American Megatrends International LLC (AMI), a global leader in BIOS, BMC and remote management tools and utilities, is pleased to announce BIOS support for the second generation of the AMD EPYC™ server processor, as its Aptio® V UEFI firmware was selected as the shipping reference BIOS for the recently released AMD EPYC™ 7002 Series.

This announcement continues the tradition of AMI providing reference BIOS support for the AMD EPYC™ platform, as AMI was previously selected as the shipping reference BIOS provider for the original AMD EPYC™ 7000 Series server processors and platforms.

The new, second-generation AMD EPYC™ 7002 processors will feature up to 64 cores, utilizing the "Zen 2" architecture to deliver high performance while reducing total cost of ownership by up to 50% across numerous workloads. "AMI is honored to once again be selected by AMD as the reference BIOS provider for its next generation AMD EPYC™ processors and platforms with our flagship Aptio V UEFI firmware," commented Sanjoy Maity, CEO of American Megatrends.

"AMI has worked closely with AMD, along with its OEMs and ODMs, to help test and debug its systems during the power-on phase. Close collaboration between all stakeholders during this critical phase was instrumental in creating a powerful, robust and stable data center platform. The selection of AMI as the reference BIOS provider with Aptio V also ensures that the familiarity and trust developers and users have built while working with our firmware and tools continues uninterrupted," he added.
